Excellent specialties made from IGP hazelnuts
Protecting the land means having the courage to pass it on to future generations with the same qualities as we inherited it. For this reason, since the beginning of their adventure, Altalanga has had a firm goal: the organic cultivation of all products.
Azienda Agricola Altalanga is one of the most important organic farms in the Piedmont region and one of the few that currently practice this type of organic cultivation for the IGP Piedmont hazelnut.
Over the years, Azienda Agricola Altalanga has scoured the Langhe in search of the best plots, abandoned for historical and economic reasons.
From here they have worked to create the ideal conditions and produce high quality products based on IGP hazelnuts.
The founder (seen in the picture), together with his team, has put all his passion into reviving Alta Langa with two goals:
- On the one hand, the restoration of agricultural productivity through chemical and physical analyzes of the soil, the support of agronomists specialized in the recovery of gerbils, crop rotation with legumes to enrich the plots with nitrogen, the upgrading of old water sources, weed cleaning and mycorrhization of truffle beds for reforestation and cultivation of truffles.
- On the other hand, the use of technologies to protect the landscape thanks to the recycling of agricultural waste and waste materials such as wood chips and hazelnut shells in the production cycle. Above all, however, the architectural restoration of the old farm buildings avoids further land use.
